is there a way to find a guitar's history from Fender?

I was just curious is it's possible to use the serial number to find the date a guitar was built, that sort of thing, or when it was delivered to the sotre before it was sold.

As AjayTele suggests, you can look up the approximate date of manufacture on this site. However, that won't give you the exact day nor would you be able to find out when it was shipped or to who.

Probably dealers don't individually log SNs when they get guitars in stock and they may or may not register them as they're sold. You're probably stuck with having to track down the individuals who've used the guitar, back to the original purchaser.

Unlike car VINs, most serial numbers aren't used to track an item though its life. They're more for general dating and possible verification of authenticity (you can do that on this site) and for your benefit. You can record it as proof that you owned "that" guitar, etc.
