What do you think about Stevie Ray Vaughan's song

I thin that he's pouring his heart out in that song The Blues President 8)

SRV played with his heart and soul regardless of the song. He was great.

I saw him play when I was 15 and it changed me.

He really left it all out there on the stage. if you get a hold of some of the live stuff, its a joy to watch. I highly recommend the 'Austin city Limits' recordings.
It starts with his early performance, and later has a performance from shortly before he died. He started off great, but it is evident that he got all the more better as time went on. A true loss to the music world.

I never got to actually go to a concert or anything, he died before I was born. But nevertheless he and his music are one of my primary influences on guitar. He really had the right attitude about it, I don't think he had a big ego or anything.

Self taught, and a three finger player for the most part :)
But that man could really wail.

Been a long while now, I still regularly listen to his disks and miss him greatly.

I always felt that "Ain't Gonna Give Up On Love" and "Life Without You" were two of his Most Soulful Tunes, and that's saying a lot considering everything he did was packed with soul and emotion.

Clapton does a great rendition of "Aint Gone 'n Give Up On Love" on A Tribute To SRV. Not as good as SRV of course, but he really pours his heart into it.

I was watching that for the first time with my parents, and when he went into that part of Third Stone from the Sun I just started grinning my face off, so both of my parents turned around and gave me the "parent look" and my Dad reminded me who buys and maintains my guitars... So I guess I won't be trying to do that until I can afford to fix my guitar if the headstock went flying off or something.

I heard about him from my Dad. Although my Dad never saw him live (I still give him a hard time about it) my Dad did know who he was back when it was just Stevie Vaughan in the 70s. But he didn't have the money to go see him.
