Forget about all the jobs lost... fhopkins is taking us all in. Well at least he'll feed us... guess you'll have to find your own ride there... that is if you can get the gas before it gets too high... and pay for it along the way.

"Strange days indeed, most peculiar . . . "

I'm worried just like everyone else. In five years at the outside, this will all work out with employment recovering, but we've got to keep it together for five years.

Here in europe the economic pressure increases, too. I´m now looking for a fulltime job after my economics diploma since august 2008. Well, but keeping heads up is the only way to stand this times. That´s for sure. And if you got family and friends helping you... the sun will shine for you again.

One the other hand: more time to play guitar

:D
regards
M.

Yes, I keep hearing it is tough all over. And I hope you land full-time work in the near future.

You are also right in saying... with the support of family and friends... it is a big help in remaining positive. Imagine all the folks who are on their own who lost jobs this past year with no family... and the burden of debt they might be in, with a home and other bills to pay... that would really hit hard.

I am not sure how this crisis will ever turn around... Heads up as you have mentioned.

I didn't lose my job (I have two) but I did take a ten percent pay cut at my full time job and I'm only working half the time I used to at my part-time job.

And the latest... 590,000 folks applied for unemployment within the week... a total of 4.7 million folks are now collecting unemployment... and the numbers are climbing with continued jobs cuts each day. It's a pretty picture... isn't it?

It was a Bloody Monday yesterday in the USA with about 72,000 folks who lost their jobs... and now there is serious talks that we might be headed for a Depression worse than the 1930s... (sigh).

Well Barry lets just hope that all these jobs that Obama promised us come on line quick. Plus lest hope they make it so that all the work goes to companies that employ only U.S. citizens and not illegal's. You find many of the companies that do State work in maryland employ suspect workers. Our present Govenor who was Mayor of Baltimore even set up day labor locations when Mayor in the city which all no are for illegal aliens looking for work. Such is Business in Maryland one of the few States where you can get a Drivers License and register to vote when your not even a U.S. Citizen. ( Motor Voter - imported voters)

Some companies up here are being investigated for laying off Canadian citizens while keeping on temporary foreign workers, which is highly illegal.
