Guitarist and founder member of The Stooges was found dead in his Michigan home this morning.

See ya Ron. Thanks for re-creating rebellion.

Its all good man...Apparently we are the only major Ron Asheton/Stooges fans on this forum, so a friend of the Stooges is a friend of mine...

Same age as mitch mitchell and i remarked then that it was far too young. Must be a later consequence of serious substance use during youth. Such a crying shame.
Hope wherever he is now that theres a big wall of amps behind him.

Omg, I did not know this until I read the post. I am behind on the times, this is sad & terrible News. He truly was an amazing guitarist w/ clever ideas and created some open territories in the punk / poppunk industry.

I was so glad to see him included in the "best guitarist" list a few years back on a national magazine. I know that stuff never really means anything, but just the fact that they included him was a nice fact. I didn't realize people judging that type of stuff would even listen to the stooges.
