I'm not real familiar with coil tapping humbuckers but I dug up so info and came up with this for my application. I didn't want to use a mini switch. I'm thinking with master volume and master tone I should free up the tone side of the 5 way switch correct ?

Anyway if you see something that won't work let me know.

Hi Tonefight: I'm wondering whether those are your ideal selector switch options, or if you are just trying to work with what is already there under the hood on an HH Strat.

Just to suggest other possibilities, 16 bucks will get you a fiveway E-model Megaswitch with the options for splitting two humbuckers you see in the first diagram on this page:

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics ... ml#details

To me that setup seems more intuitive and gives a nice selection of tones.

I believe that switch also allows you to use both tone controls if you wish, as well. And if dim memory serves I think there is a way to set it up with a master tone and two volumes, which might suit your HH arrangement nicely. My foggy brain ain't ready to draw you a schematic for that one, though...! (And I could be mistaken on the two volumes bit.)

Good luck - C

Thanks, I saw a similar switch but wanted to experiment and see if it could be done with the standard switch, I think I drew my switch backwards but it should work. Really 1 good humcancelling position would be nice. This is mainly an experiment.
