How old where you when you started to learn, seriously learn.

Now if this poll has been done a hundred times already, humor me and play along please, thanks, BF.
I started just a very short while ago, I am half way to 100 years old.

Started at 9 years old on a Sears Silvertone. First song I learned was "Hang Down Your Head Tom Dooley". Quit after 6 lessons (I regret that today). Started again at age 19 after hearing a guy play Needle and the Damage Done. I learned that one along with Love Hurts by Nazareth. Been playing ever since. I have never been in a band until last year when I was asked if I want to play in the Church Praise Band. It is now one of the highlights of my week! I am a 47 year old guitarist and I hope to play until the day I am pushing daisies.

:D

I started coming up on two years ago, when I was twenty-five. Bought a cheap guitar and cheaper amp, and went at it. I've since replaced both the guitar and the amp with much better gear. :)

I started 2 years ago at age 51. Was a brass and keyboard player as a youth. Finally got some free time the last few years to learn guitar. I've been taking lessons and really getting into gear...I have terminal GAS!

I started to really learn between 16-21 years old. Took a break. Relearned everything when I was 31. Now I am 38. (Wow I just added that up and I have been playing a total of 12 years. I should be a whole lot better than I am.) :( Bummer

I bought my first guitar in 1973 when I was 28. However about a year later, life interrupted and I didn't really play with it again until 2007, when I was 62

So here I am, a retired guy, who finally has enough time to devote to my guitar playing

And I'm having a blast at it - not very good yet, but I'm re-learning what I knew, and I'm doing it on Electrics now - and I'm learning many new things - pedals, amps, and Strats with all their goodies :P

As Fender says - Rock On :D

Started at 27, with an Epi SG and a Crate practice amp. Took a few lessons, didn't practice, ran out of money, had to quit taking lessons, then had to sell my rig. I loved that guitar. :(

Now I'm 39, taking lessons, money is still tight, (added 3 kids and a house since the first time), playing a Squier Strat and a Marshall.......AIN'T SELLING THIS TIME!!!!!!!!

Practicing, too. :D

I started taking lessons when I was 10, that was in 1958. Been playing on and off ever since. A word to the younger people here...DON`T STOP ! You`ll regret it later on.
