New member here. I saw a post about the Strokes, and coincidentally I am trying to get the guys I play with to perform Last Nite. I am in a bar band, mostly 35-45 year olds guys w/day jobs, and was wondering if anyone has played this song in a bar setting? If so, how does the crowd react? My band is plays a lot of classic rock standards, but we are trying to avoid playing too many cliche songs and are trying to incorporate some songs that people may know but aren't played on top 40 or classic rock stations.

I am 33, and I know who the Strokes are...but unfortunately in my area, unless you are playing at a venue with college kids, no one will know that song here...Some NickelCRAP or Kid CRAP song would get them going, but nothing somewhat decent like the Strokes. So if it was for a band here, no one would react unless there was college kids in attendance...

I'd say play it. Everyone knows that song even if they don't know the strokes

Thanks for the replies. Our band has been trying to put together a set list with a fair mix of classics and some newer stuff to keep things somewhat up to date.
