I went to the mall yesturday to get new shoes. And i've been to the mall like a million times. But i guess i've never gone in that way. And as soon as i walked in the mall i see this big guitar store! So i had to go in. I was hopeing they would have Gibson. But they have lots of Ibanez. And some Fender. Nice Fenders though! I think that all they had were Stratocaster.

Sounds like the the music stores in my area. They never have nothing you want.

We have three stores, one is a small chain that has epi les pauls on the wall with a few strats. The second is locally owned, he's an $@! and wants too much for his junk so he's going out of business at the moment. The third is another locally owned store that has a pretty good selection, that is, if your a big time collector or just plan on spending more than about $5,000 bucks. most of the good stuff he keeps locked in a back showroom and it takes an act of congress to get in there to look at it all. You would think he has the "Hope Diamond" in there or something. He's just your average run of the mill boutique dealer.

It is always cool to discover a guitar store you've never been in before... for me, it's like a kid in a candy store... I'll take one of that, and that, and that...

It's addictive! Some gotta have sweets, we gotta have guitars. And just look at all the flavors they come in! Oh boy, I am drooling so bad.

Up here in Vermont where I live -

10 miles to Guitar Sam in Montpelier - a nice small shop.

45 miles to Burlington/Williston where we find -

Daddy's Junky Music in Williston - not too bad

Advance Music in Burlington - haven't visited them yet - supposed to be the biggest music store in Vermont.

and about 60 miles to Rutland - where Be Music lives - another one I haven't yet visited.

I used to live in New York City in the Village - lots of guitar places to visit and wander about.

Then there is one like 30min. away (in the mall) w/ like 60 guitars!!! Ibanez and Fender! No Gibson  which is what i was looking for.(Flechers or something like that)

Then in Binghamton Ny about 45min. away there is a little store w/about 30 or 40 guitars.(Music City) which is where i got my guitar!!!!

Last there is one in NY about 50 min. away called Guitar Center with all kinds of guitars!

^ you do realize there are alternatives to gibsons like epiphones, which won't cost you thousands of dollars for a moderately better guitar.... and don't be set one one guitar, especially if you don't even know the name of it.... and don't just get something because the GGD guy plays it, it won't make you sound much more like him, thats pretty much all from the amp

i know you can get whatever you want, its your money and decision, but some of the guitars have better alternatives that won't cost as much, but may sound just as good... what kind of amp do you have? you may want to upgrade that first possibly
