If it was on VH1 classic, then I would consider watching it, but seeing that it's probably on VH1 lite, then it'll probably be something that the artsy fartsy critics like and not us real people.

+1. I've seen part of the VH1 special this last week, I get REALLY sick of tenth-rate celebrities that I have NEVER heard of, EXPLAIN a song to me--and to add insult to injury, they only show about 20 seconds of the video or play 20 seconds of the song. That's not entertainment, that's crap! I would MUCH rather watch the entire video or hear the entire song, I don't need a freakin' explanation! Nothing makes me change the channel faster than some irrelevant talking head trying to interpret music I like--or even music I don't like. I wouldn't have watched as much of VH1 as I did, except that the other cable channels I frequent was showing stuff I'd already seen in the last week.

I will agree the format is most annoying - but they have reminded me of a lot of songs I have not thought of in a long time...
and Joan Jett is still HOTTTTTTTT

and my money is on Back in Black...

Point taken, but that format gives NO decent idea or concept of the artists, in that short amount of time, to anybody who DIDN'T experience the Golden Age of Video firsthand. MTV is now even worse than VH1, and that's saying something. Neither are what they used to be years ago.

Welcome to the Jungle won and Back in Black was #2. There was also a show called VH1 Greatest Heavy Metal songs and Welcome to the Jungle was #2 on there. Back in Black was #2.

VH1 & MTV are unwatchable for musicians/players.

I think it's designed that way. Can't have free thinking going on anymore. It's unpatriotic/unChristian.

Just my take -- now where did I leave my tinfoil hat??

insert *Blah, Blah, Blah - Iggy Pop* here
