Yes the Hwy 1's are the lower end (cost) MIA's (Made in America). There are 2 other MIA's: the American Standard and American Deluxe. Both are higher end guitars with different features than the HWY 1.

By the way, I own a Highway 1 Stratocaster...Very nice guitar.

I would hope so. I am sure that the Custom Shop's are also made in America. I was just using the Standard Stock Fenders that one would see in a guitar store for less than $1200 dollars or ones that wouldn't need to be special ordered.

The VG Strat is basically an American Standard (MIA) with all of electronics for the special electronics.

Yup they sure are made in the "US of A" and they are a GREAT value.

They cost less because the nitro finish costs less to apply and they use vintage style hardware and pickups which costs less. You won't find the fancy SCN pickups in 'em, but if your really want to do it that's an easy swap.

It's not "US of A" it is simply the "USA." You don't include words like "and," "of," and "or," in acronyms.

Thanks for the grammar lesson Bro. That's why I offset it in quotes, as if I were saying it. That's how I say it so that's how I wrote it. :D

Usually its all the guitars that cost more than $650 brand new, that are made it the US. I mean thats not the official way to tell, but thats the way I can usually tell where its made...
