I think now is the Golden age of Fender. But I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the early 50's.

Right now Fender are making some excellent quality instruments, my teacher owns a '73 precision bass and it was such a lovely bass to play, but I got my MIA and even my teacher admitted the tone and feel of it was just such a high standard, higher than his '73.

i really like the 50's / 60's vintage guitars, but the guitars they are cranking out right now are equally as awesome (especially for people who didn't get one back then and can't afford $10,000+ for one now). wasn't really a big fan of the oversized headstock in the 70's period for some reason.

I would love to be able to get my hands on a 50's/60's Fender, even if it was just to play for 10 minutes those things just look so good!

The 50's.

I'd like to own a guitar made by supervision of mr. Leo.

Right now, but I'm sure that I'd say 50's if I had the money

The 50's P tone will always be how a P should sound, to me. Wether it be the SCPB's, The Raised A models or the 59's. There's no better sound to me. Though I must admit it's pretty sweet being around in a time where high quality recreations of all those basses are available at one time.

1970's for the binding, inlays, large headstocks, and the ground-shaking low-end of Fender Basses in Rock, Funk, and Metal!

54 to 64.

But they're also on a hell of a roll now. Just so long as they don't bring back the Toronado.
