Couldn't agree more. The old japanese strats of the 80's were (are) great guitars, compared to anything! The japanese are perfenctionists, and it shows in their guitar, electronics, cars, and women :)

But I digress. The MIM's are great guitars, and at a great price. Other than the fact that they're "not american", MIM Fenders are outstanding guitars. They do have a consistency issues, though. Once you find one of the good ones, you'll have a great guitar for life - even without any modifications. I still think MIA's are much better, and I can appreciate all the differences, but that's also doesn't demean what a good MIM is and can be either.

Also agree. Wear and tear happens, but I sure wouldn't want to rush it. I like my Mexi HSS, (and all my instruments), to gleam like new.

Happy New Year!

Nearly a grand for a made in mexico strat.

yes, those prices seem pretty high. I wasn't sure if those were the MSRP or the MAP, but from the other prices at that retailer's website, I believe that those are the MAP!

The Road Worn guitars will soon be upon us!

I think I would buy the $440 non-reliced Fender MIM and let time do it's thing.

every one of my hard earned dollars are perfect, therefore if I should buy a new fender I should want it to also be perfect, the nicks, scratches & dings will happen all by themselfs, to me a roadworn guitar must have come off the assembly line with some kind of blemish or defect, some smartass suit & tie guy figured out, "if life gives you lemons make lemonaid".
