From the looks of that video their far more tastefully relic'd than the current CS guitars. Kind of halfway between closet classic and relic.

I doubt very much that I would ever purchase one, however if I were to win it then I would own one. Anyways I did a google search and found a zzounds.com listing for it but it says the product is no longer available, probably a generic posting because it is new product. http://www.zzounds.com/item--FEN131012 .I hope it works
I will edit my post and say that unless this worn out looking guitar sells for Squier prices (and I mean Squier Standard Series) I would rather pay for a new looking guitar, but any of those for 2 bills would work for me. If they sold a million that would be 200 million dollar income, I like my pricing.

I just wonder who buys these things? They must sell or they would not make them and I have no doubt they reseach to get sales projections before introducing the lines.

What kind of experience do you need to get the job in the factory of taking a perfectly good guitar body and sliding it across the floor and dinging it up?? The whole "old", "retro", "relic" thing is out of control. I love that my new strat looks new, my 81 charvel looks bad, but hey it got that way over the years.... naturally

I can just see the Fender Shop people kicking perfectly good guitars around the shop floor saying............."I can't believe that people are paying good money for these"!

If I want the worn look, I'll do the "wearing out" myself.

It is a way of not worrying about the quality of the body wood and the prep work for finishing  you never no. It not like its coming from the Custom shop where they are meticulous about detail on there relic guitars which I still would not buy.

Nearly a grand for a made in mexico strat.

I cant see em selling at that price, you could relic a standard that costs $450 avg. $150 on some new pickups and hey presto your $350 better off. The relicing would be done to your personal requirements too.

yes, those prices seem pretty high. I wasn't sure if those were the MSRP or the MAP, but from the other prices at that retailer's website, I believe that those are the MAP!

The Road Worn guitars will soon be upon us!

And leave us wallet worn.

They need to be some guitar for that price. The whole mexico/america made thing has been greatly exaggerated. I strongly believe Mexican guitar quality has risen expodentially over the last few years, and is currently on a par with japanese instruments. Not far from the majority of American instruments too. Although they do knock out a duffer every now and again as does every production line on the planet. Still i do fear for the sale of these instruments. No doubt they will be a quality bit of kit, but there is still a (for want of a better word) stigma attatched to mexican guitars.

Theres a baja tele for sale at a particular high quality shop here in the uk for £789 that puts it roughly in the $1100 ish price range. I bought mine 7 miles away from that shop for £480. Ive seen them for as low as £380 since then. Alas the £789 hasnt shifted in all that time. Couple that with the fact that companies like wilkinson are knocking out blackie replica's. With 3 piece solid alder bodies, wilkinson/gotoh hardware and wilkinson pickups for £250. I really think these guitars are going to have a hard time moving. The people that want relic'd guitars are usually rich enough to afford customshop. The average joe blow wants a guitar that plays well that he can treasure and would rather the extra cost went on quality rather than appearance.

Still i hope im proved wrong. :?
