I am going to Disneyworld in a couple of weeks - driving through Nashville. I want to stop at a guitar store or two while I am there. Any ideas????

You have to stop at Gruhn Guitars, and the Gibson Showcase.

I'm sure a local could give you more suggestions.

I don't know what day you'll be there, or if you have time, but you should definitely take a tour of the Gibson factory if you can.

Thanks for the heads up Pohatu771. I did not know that the Gibson Factory was down there.

I may have to make an executive decision.............

Both my Gibbys were made at the Nashville factory, in 2007. Sounds like a cool day out, enjoy yourself Beaubs.

Lots of good stores; Corner Music, World Music Nashville, Nashville Used, Mr. Mark's, Chamber's, Low-end Bass, Gruhn's, of course. I don't know how much there is to see at Gibson. I always thought it was mainly in Memphis, too. The Gibson store is in Opry Mills mall, so the family can shop while you check it out. The prices are obscene, but you'll see a bunch of Gibsons. L&M is in Chattanooga, 2 hrs on towards Mickey. He's got a Budda I'd like to have!
I see a guy from Dublin, GA on Craig's List all the time. I'm not sure if that's close to I-75 or not. That's a LONG drive, brother!

Gruhns is famous and used by celebrities. I`d stop by there just to see what they carry.

Thanks for the info! I hope to get to a few of these stores.

Yes a long drive but my boys are good passengers and they will enjoy both Nashville and Disney. We are headed to the Kennedy Space Center also. I am very much looking forward to that.

Last time I was at the Gibson Showcase in Opry Mills they were making guitars... quite a show.

Wave at me in Murfreesboro as you drive by...

Love Disney, too! Been to Kennedy Space Ctr.
Downtown Nashville is cool. Lotsa honky-tonks on Broadway, Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium, etc. Nashville is small and easy to get around. There's live music all day downtown. But you might have to leave the boys out on the sidewalk! ; ) If your time's limited hit Gruhn's (on Broadway downtown), Corner to check out Reverends, and Gibson at Opry Mills Mall. Have fun; drive safe!

Will do! Look for the Silver Minivan sailing by with four weary travelers on a mission to get to Nashville!

Gibson Nashville (referred to as Gibson USA, I believe) makes a majority of Gibson electric guitars - Les Paul, SG, etc.

Gibson Memphis makes a majority of semi-hollow guitars - ES-335, etc.

Gibson Acoustic in Bozeman Montana makes a majority of acoustic guitars.

There is some crossover between factories... the only "law" is that Bozeman makes only acoustic.

My Nighthawk was the 94th instrument made at the Nashville Factory on Oct. 3rd, 1995. With a procuction rate of 220 instruments a day, and asuming they begin work at 9am and end at 5pm my Gibby was born at about 11:25 AM, October 3rd 1995.

If they give tours, you should try and take one.
