Dean Markley Reissued my favorite string. It sounds kinda dumb to have vintage reissue strings, but I've been drifting in String Limbo since Dean Markley changed the Formula. I Need These Strings!!

I am a big Dean Markley string fan. I may have to try them.

Always hated markleys, so i'll give em a go, they can only be an improvement in my ears.

Funny how in the never ending quest for tone and current vintage mythology no-one has thought of this before.

I got a box of 12 years ago. I think they were posphere. If it's on sale I'll buy it. But the Deans were probably the best I've tried.

Hello FirstMeasure,

Thanks for the link.
I'm always game to try new strings,
although I may have used them 35 years ago.

Cheers.

Ah, I believe I have tried them, and they are very nice. Sound great for those classic rock tones.

i've been using dean markley's on my acoustic for many years (and i have the stickers to prove it).
you can't beat the crispy, clean sound when you first string 'er up, but the only issue i have with them is that they don't last long.
i'm hoping the new formula remedies the problem.
thanks for the link, and i'll keep my eyeballs pealed when i'm out.

That's what I used to love about Markleys. before they changed the packaging, and started introducing "better" alloys they would last at least a week longer than most and had a very consistant sound. Every set sounded nearly the same. I can only hope these are they.

here's mr markley (and a couple of other relics) on my file cabinet of fame... i stuck it on one of those phone-book magnets you get stuck to the front cover of the yellow pages. makes for easy mobility:
