I have tried them in the past and must say the ones that I played were nice. A Clubking and another that were both bolt on necks and a Warhawk that was a set neck. You used to be able to by direct from them until about a year or two ago.

I played a few back when they were US made and they played well and had a really good sound.
I don't know about the newer off shore models, I hope they are still good guitars.

A good friend and excellent player friend of mine works at a shop that just stared carrying them. He is a total convert. Loves the sound and loves the way they play. He got one and hasn't looked back.

I have a Warbird with P-90s (they call them P91s) and I love it. I wanted something with P-90s and didn't have the $2000 for a goldtop reissue, so I got the Reverend. I would buy another Reverend. I have a couple of Strats and a Jazz, but I do really like the Warbird. I think the Warbird is set neck now, but mine's a bolt-on. I paid $650 for mine new, but I saw one go off on ebay for $450 recently. They're alot of guitar for the money.
Oh, yeah, they're also very cool looking!

Bigarnott,

I think they are really cool my problem is that there is nobody in MN that distributes (that I have found) so no source to demo. I have a Telecaster TC 90 set neck with P-90s - it is a beautiful sounding guitar but I am looking for a bolt on neck guitar. I will most likely go with a MIM Strat but saw and heard the Reverend was a pretty good guitar.

Thanks for the feedback.

Reverend is cool in that many of their models come in 2 or 3 pickup configs. and 2 or 3 colors. I'm thinking my next guitar will be one of their's with the Gretch-style pickups for that jangle-y British tone.

I like them, though I don't own one. They're made here in Detroit and a few shops have their entire lines, so it's nice to play them, and even have one custom made at their shop.

I'd like to pick up one of theirs sometime. I don't have any surf style guitars, and some of their guitars have great surf/rockabilly tones that I'd love to round out my collection with.

Reverend guitars ROCK. Joe Naylor is great, he's one of the true genius guys building stuff these days. I wish he would get back into amps, I have one of his amp heads from the 90s.

Can't go wrong with his lineup, some real unique stuff with his designs. They don't really cost too much either, good bargains in my opinion. The pickups are good stock.

Nope. They are imported form over seas. They haven't been made in Michigan for a few years now.

Ah, I was not aware of that. I might not be in such a rush to get one then. The main reason was to have a cool guitar made here in town. If it's not made here, then I'll just look into any company for that matter.

I wasn't knocking them, just stating facts. They are great guitars from the money.

^^ Yeah, I knew that. But thanks for the heads up. I'm sure they're still good too. I'd just be more inclined to own one if I knew it were made right in the neighborhood, by people that live here, etc. If it's made someone else, it might be great still, but doesn't have that same hometown thing...

Hey, guys, I think Asia makes the lions' share of all the guitars in the World. I've heard that most are made by the same 2 or 3 factories. I think the Reverends are "finished" and set up in Michigan. (Good enough for MI boy Kid Rock!)
I e-mailed a question to them before I bought mine and they responded immediately; fire off an e-mail and ask them what's done in Asia and what's done in MI. I'd be curious, so let us know.
