I bought me a brand new, genuine Fender Stratocaster neck with maple fingerboard.

Santa did not bring me anything guitar related; however, the wife states that I can go to a music shop and shop around. As long as I stick to the budget, I have free reign.

My holiday plan was to buy a Classic Player Jazzmaster during one of Guitar Center's holiday sales. I missed the Black Friday sale but the guitar I wanted had a nice discount during the next weekend sale. Sold! I'm done. Or was I?

Nope. There was a yellow Mustang Reissue that got traded in a week later. I took a good long look at it, played it and wanted it. Then I made the mistake of thinking it over an extra day and it was gone. Some kid had ordered a new Olympic White 1965 Mustang Reissue, had second thoughts and returned it to buy the used Mustang. I didn't have second thoughts after playing the new Mustang. I had never seen one at any of the local guitar stores and I usually don't special order guitars. Sold, with a Blackout Tele trade in to lower the cost.

Now I am done with guitar stuff for the forseeable future. No, really. :D

I got the Fender Mini Tone-Master battery powered practice amp. My wife & kids knew I wanted it so bad that they let me have it last night. I gave it a work-out for a couple of hours. The kids asked me to play songs like Bell Bottom Blues and She Wore red Dresses (Dwight Yokum). Ham that I am, I played 'em all.

I am trying really hard not to.

But I just found an amp I would love to call my own.

And my wife said go for it.

The problem is, I really shouldn't with the economy and taxes being due.

but man it is so sweet and so vintage !!!!! and tubular (as in tube amp).

I'd say pay the bills and save up. But what do you mean "with the economy"? The economy the way it is you should be spending money, not conserving it. What do you mean?

Also, I got a 50$ gift card for a local music shop.

Thanks gratz, and Merry Christmas to you and all the Fender Forum members.

I couldn't resist the opportunity to buy the two "other" Fender electrics I have always wanted. I traded in a Tele for each one but that was a sacrifice that had to be made. Oh yeah, and then there is that economy thing, too. I hope I helped a little.
