I am trying really hard not to.

But I just found an amp I would love to call my own.

And my wife said go for it.

The problem is, I really shouldn't with the economy and taxes being due.

but man it is so sweet and so vintage !!!!! and tubular (as in tube amp).

I hear ya but, then I would have to think about getting rid of at least one of my current amps.

I love my deville however this amp would most likely take its place.

The CT is coll and gives me a lot of room to play with and so ?????

But wow the chance to own one of these at a reasonable price does not happen every day.

I have been trying to get a dude to budge on the price of a used Tele but he has not. Thought as the holiday got closer he would but appears no go. Other then that I have been looking for a Amp project to do and in looking a new Carvin Vintage16 and a Ampeg J20 caught my eye. My son wants me to get a Champion 600 and give it a Mercury upgrade you no how kids can be.

I've got some guitar books that should appear under the tree, a couple of books about music and I ordered and have already received the following:

Image
A custom made BYOC Script Phaser - sounds wonderful

The Phaser will be under the tree :P

This is a musical Christmas in our house, I've gotten my daughter a bass and an amp, books, cables, and a special strap - she will be a happy camper :D

Plus the elves will be leaving various percussion instruments for various folks to use to assist in the music making

I got myself a Roomba... actually, it was two-for-one, and I was getting one for my mom anyway.

In a week or so, I may be buying myself a heavily-modified Gibson Spirit, which is almost completely turned into a Les Paul Special. I intend to finish the transformation.

For me:
A new pearl pickguard for my Tele and a new leather handle for my amp.

For my guitarist son:
a Dimarzio Super 2 for the neck of his Les Paul

For my bassist son:
a Seymour Duncan active tone circuit for his Jazz Bass

I got myself a Douglas Zeke, a strap and some straplocks...I really like the Zeke and am trying to tell myself I don't need to buy another, but I have some sort of OCD issue where I need to have at least 2 of everything I like for a spare or backup, or at least thats how it gets rationalized...Luckily I haven't found a girl I am super crazy about yet, cause then I'd try to find a spare or backup, and then I'd probably be in real trouble

New Tube Screamer, DAW upgrade and some latin percussion loops to back some guitar tracks. No more buys until '09 so I can see where the economy is headed.

Money is too tight right now, at the most I plan to renew my guitar magazine subscriptions for next year. One of my New Years resolutions is to NOT treat credit cards as disposable income. Because it isn't.

It reminds me of the tired old line that sales people use at music stores--'See anything you can't live without?' I tell 'em, 'I've got too much stuff I can't live WITH'. That shuts them up pretty quick. I think I'll go shopping when I sell all my excess stuff first. I'm like that guy with the used Tele, just because it's for sale doesn't mean my stuff is going for somebody elses' sale price, economy or not.

I think I said it better here : http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... highlight= I thought this topic looked familiar.
