Hi MThorn. My uncle married an Armenian-American. For some peculiar reason they took their honeymoon in Turkey, I guess so's she could see where her family came from (Istanbul). Much to her annoyance - she really liked it there!

How confusing for her...

yep, I also went to Antalya and Alanya, one of them was the airport, the other was the place where i stayed... dunno which one was wich though.

Great food, great people, and I love haggling, haha.
I also went on a trip through the mountains in open SUV's. really really cool.

I would like to go to Turkey as I have never been there. I hear they have excellent coffee.

My brother plays backgammon on line - he stated that the Turks are the "Kings of Backgammon". I am not to enthused about board games myself.


As far as I know Istanbul was formerly called Constantinople and was the seat of the Roman Catholic Church. I find that interesting.

Maybe someday I will get a chance to visit, but with a mortgage and four children that will probably not happen. I did buy a lottery ticket this week so you never know................................
