That's no problem! At least you are playing. My little daughter just turned 7. She's been taking piano lessons for nearly a year now. We told her she had to do that before getting that Pink Hello Kitty Strat she had her eye on.

I'm not exactly sure what's a good age to get her that guitar and get her started playing it. Maybe another year of piano first.

haha, yeah I had to do the whole piano thing before any other instrument too. But the problem is, I can't read notes, which made things hard!! I can play by ear a little, but that could only take me so far... Good luck to your daughter!! This world needs more girl guitarists!!! :)

Hi all. My name is Nathan im 29 and im from the UK. I live with my girlfriend and we have a 2 year old son, who loves my guitars!
I stated playing the guitar at about 16 and started with a Squier strat starter package. This guitar is now resprayed in British racing green with 1960's neck and middle pickups and a cool rail in the bridge, all seymour duncan. I also have a 2000 American Standard Strat in teal green metallic. I play through a Marshall AVT50 amp. I try to play most styles but like rock, blues and brit pop stuff most.

My name is Alan Fox. I am 51 years young, and started learning the guitar at the age of 10 years. I don't feel that I've learned everything about the guitar, even though they are inducting myself and the other guitarist in my band (Donnie Pendleton) into the Texas Guitarists Hall Of Fame. I own two strats a tele, a Guild D-35, and a Moonstone.
Donnie and I both play mainly our custom shop strats, and we just bought matching Blond Fender Super Sonic's with the 4x12 cab. to get a matching twin guitar sound. We are very excited about our new CD to be released, "Ju Ju Ear Rub" (rock/blues) www.alanfox.com

I also am the head of Microbiology at ETMC Hosp.
I too wish to be a full time musician, but I have habits to feed.
(gear, food, drink, gear, and gear)

I love rubbing elbows with the other fender folks out there.
enough about me, let me read about someone else.

Alan

I thought I had already replied to this, but I don't see where I did.

My name is John, and I'm 46. I am an I.S. Director for a performance automotive company (speed/race parts). I have been married for almost 25 years to a wonderful girl, and have 3 kids (23, 20, and 10). I recently started playing again to help my youngest with guitar lessons.

I am primarily a bass player, and have been playing for 31 years. I still have my first bass, a 1966 Jazz. I have played with a bunch of different bands, styles, and artists. I've never played with anyone famous, but many I have played with have done so (1 degree of separation, I guess). :)

I play bass, both stand-up and electric, guitar, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, some sax, and percussion.

Hello everyone. I'm a 44 year old Canadian. I bought a 69 Jazz Bass in 1987 and put it in the closet for 20 years. I'm a total newbie so I'll probably ask many questions that will test your patience. My apologies in advance.

Hi everyone :)

I'm Alex(hence the username  ). I'm 19, been playing guitar for about 4-5 years. My father used to drum in a band, and my mother plays classical guitar, and I suppose I have musical influence from both.

I started on an Encore Strat copy starter pack, and have slowly moved up to a Fender HSS strat. I also play Ovation acoustic guitars(currently own 2) And I still have my original Classical guitar and Encore Strat copy.

As for musical taste, my favorite band is Rush, and that is mainly what I play. I also like Marillion, Pendragon, Whitesnake, Blind Guardian, Def Leppard and Steve Vai :D
