My name is Brian and I live in Ohio. I love basically anything to do with music and guitars. I started playing guitar in 2003 late in life so I have a long way to go and a lot of catching up to do.

My goal is to get good enough to book some live dates at some local coffee houses, bookstores, etc. I hope to network and meet some other local musicians that may be in need of a guitar player that responds best to 75 BPM or less

My favorite guitarists are David Gilmour for his unimaginable phrasing and double bends, BB King for his sweet vibrato and Stevie Ray Vaughan for the raw energy and emotion he poured into every note he played. I was fortunate enough to see BB King last year on his 80th birthday tour. It's a memory I will charish forever.

Take it Easy,

Hi all,
My name is Dave, I hang out in a few different forums and finally decided to join up here after lurking for a while. I'm 46 years young and have been playing guitar on and off for about 25 years. More recently, I'm working on learning to play Bass. I'm mostly a jam player, I've never played in a band, but I've played with a few bands. I would conservatively rate myself as an intermediate player, and that's probably where I'll stay for a while. I've been a Fender fan since I got my first Strat in '82 (I still have it). As you can see from my motley collection of guitars, I like a mixed bag of guitar sounds. I like to tinker with 'em too, so it's nice to have a few different models to work on.
Here's the guitar pr0n:
Image
Missing from this photo are some recent purchases:
From Rondo Music-
Agile AL-2000 Cherry Sunburst LP copy with P-90s,
SX SJB-75C Jazz Bass copy (for the new "Dave the bass player" persona),
Jay Turser JTB-2B violin "Beatle" bass from eBay (I've always wanted a Hofner, but never could afford one).

I have a few amps, too:

I don't have a bass amp yet, but I've been playing through a PodXT Live using bass amp models with good results.

Here's some pedals on my board:
Image
I can't fit them all on at once, so there's a few not pictured including a Janglebox, a Mu-Tron III, and four home-built pedals made from kits (Phase 90 clone, tremolo, Fuzz Face clone, and a Tone Bender clone).

When I have free time, I like to spend it in here playing with my toys:

That's about it, I'm looking forward to hanging around and maybe getting some advice on bass playing!

Cheers!
Strat Cat
