Hello, Ali. I visited your beautiful country some years ago. We docked at Kusadasi and toured Ephesus. About your amp, if you are looking for a bluesy overdriven sound, you could try adding an Ibanez TubeScreamer or a Boss Blues Driver pedal to your signal chain.

Hi Ali Murat,
If that's the mg series it will have a decent overdrive channel and reverb so it should be ok. I would stick with that for a while.
I have in my arsenal the mgh100 with 4/12 cab, they get some bad press here but I find it more than adequate, in fact it's quite mean.
Doesn't compare to my blues deville but the mg saves getting all the pedals out, so hang in with what you got for now, unless you want to spend money, it depends whether you're happy with it or not, it's always your choice, if you like it stay with it.

A tube amp isn't necessary for the blues.

An Ibanez Tube Screamer or a Boss Blues Driver will give you a nice tubey overdriven sound.
The Boss/Fender "Bassman" pedal is pretty nice too, but it's kinda pricey.

All you really need is a decent guitar, a decent amp and the desire to play.

You could get a Grant Fidelity tube processor. "The Grant Fidelity Tube Processor is designed to transform your solid state audio signals into the much more pleasing musical sound offered by tubes."

Also the MG series also have a FDD switch. I forgot what it stands for but it makes it kind of sound like a tube amp.

No...but for a natural overdrive it couldn't hurt.

Tube amplifiers also help take the edge off of overdrive pedals (TS9, LTD, etc...).

Not absolutely. I've had good luck with a Tube Screamer TS808 through my Line6 DuoVerb. You could also get a tube preamp/DI to warm the sound up a bit -- the only downside there is that some are a bit on the pricey side, especially if you're also going to get something like a TS.

In the end though, blues is as much feeling as any particular guitar sound (or piano, or sax or ...). If you feel it, that's how things will come out!

Hi Ali. Tubes/valves always sound best to me.

However, it don't get much bluesier than BB King, and he seems to have done very well with his solid state Lab Series L5 amp.

Now you just need to get yourself a set of BB's fingers...

Cheers - C

It's not equipment that makes the blues, it's attitude! The "old school" acoustic players didn't have tube amps ...
