I finally got chance to crank my Marshall AVT50 all the way up to 10 today  .
Normally it gets played at about 1.5 due to bedroom playing and living in a flat. Took it into the warehouse at work today, plugged in my Am Strat, gradually built the volume and, WOW, that sound, that crunch. I think I have spoilt myself now and will never be able to play at 'normal' volume again!!

Cool!!
I've got the AVT100 and never taken her past three, I think I'll have to crank it up if I get snowed in for the weekend

I agree also. I have an AVT 50 and at lower volumes its okay, but when you crank it past the mid point it gets so much better.

My AVT50 doesn't get cranked up much. I don't have any choice but to sit right in front of it so it gets feedback when the volume knob is about a little more than 1/4 of the way up. Although, I usually crank it as loud as I can if I'm home alone. :) [/url]

Nathan, i can promise you that your forever going to be hankering after that sound again. Next time take 4, 4x12s with you link em all up, spread em as far apart as you can, and really spoil yourself.

get a volumizer so that you can crank the amp and adjust the volume at the "doo-hicky". That way you get the crunch of 10 at lower volume levels.

It's a potentiometer in a casing that plugs into the effects loop of your amp. I got one for around $12 US off Ebay. The brand on mine happens to be "Volumizer" but there are lots of them out there.

Great little investment.

Here's links to a few paste them in your browser or go to Ebay and search. I entered volume guitar amp as my search criteria. It seems people put amp names in their titles to attract more hits. These work on any amp with an effects loop in and out, send and recieve etc.

Cool!

I am afraid to ever try that with my Peavey 5150 II. I think I would destroy the foundations of every building within 50 miles and blow my ear drums out at the same time. The loudest I have taken it to is 4
