Hey everyone, this is my first posting.. hope it's in the right place. Anyway, I have been trying to adjust my action to how I like it for a while now and I'm having some trouble. I like a medium action because I play with a pretty heavy hand and bend notes most of the time. It seems just when I have it where I want it I have fret buzz between the fifth and ninth frets on the D thru B strings and I've fretted out some on the 17th fret on the B occasionally. Any help at all on how to remedy these would be great thanks a lot.

First off, welcome to the forum.

Next, it's hard to say exactly what it might be without looking at the neck.

It "could" be that your neck had a "lump" in it. There's a more elegant term for it, but sometime necks do this. My 98 mia had a little one when I bought it and it was fixed fast by the warranty.

It could also be that your neck need to be tilted differently, that some frets are uneven across your neck, or that those particular strings are too low.

Unless you send a lot of pics, and from a lot of different angles, it's hard to diagnose that. You might want to have someone in your area look at it. A free estimate is not uncommon.

Welcome to the Forum.

Sounds like your guitar needs a complete setup. I recommend taking to a Guitar Tech.
