I am currently waiting for a Vox Pathfinder 15R. (they are currently on back-oder) Is it worth the wait or can my $120 be better spent elsewhere?

I don't have that one, but I do have a Vox DA-5 .5w to 5w Combo Amp - battery or line powered.

Great tone, some nice effects and very portable - I use mine everywhere - all over the house, in the garden, up on a hill under a tree in the summer.

My Squier Cherryburst, the amp in Camo and a couple of pedals.

The DA-5 costs $139 new. This color is not available any longer. Other colors are - Black, White, Red, Pink and Classic Vox look.

They also make 10w and 20w models with 2 speakers and still battery or line powered - the DA-10 and DA-20.

I also have a Vox DA-5 in camo coloring. It's a great little amp and I keep it in my car just in case an impromptu jam session suddenly appears. My Strat and Tele sound excellent through it. For a practice amp, it is hard to beat. It is also one of the few small amps that actually comes with a DC power supply and that has switchable wattage. I normally just use the batteries though. Battery life is pretty good too, as long as you remember to turn the amp off when not playing. I also have a Super Champ XD but only use it for serious rehearsing and quaint small gigs.

Hey Gil: when you play that amp up the hill under the tree, just don't leave it there after. With that camo finish you might not be able to find it again later...

Hasn't happened yet :P

I'm careful with that little guy - and batteries do last a long time - most of the time I play at .5w - when I'm outside I go up to 5w so the wind doesn't drown me out

Of course with well over a foot of snow on the hill and it being 21F outside, I'm doing my playing inside now :D

I have two Vox amps I like them both a AC30 and a AD15VT that my Son has since claimed. The Pathfinder in no bad but for a little more I would look at the VT15 or the DA10 that are available. The DA5 sells for the same as the Pathfinder as well in in both DA's you get some good effects.

Snowy,

Thanks for mentioning the amplug. What do you think of them? They seem like they would be nice for late-nite practicing when everyone's asleep.

Hi Mainburner,

I didn't see your q until now, I love the amplugs. They're perfect for night time playing/practice, and very handy. It really is just a case of plugging in and rocking out, like I said above, I've got two. I got the rock plug first, was so impressed I got the AC30. If I had to choose one, it would have to be the AC30.

I pump my Strat thru a vintage Vox Model V1241 Kensington Bass Amp from the late 60's.

All my amps are Fenders at the moment, but I'd love to get an old AC30 someday.

I have a Korg/Vox AC30 from '99. I use it in tandem with a 59 Bassman LTD. Two fantastic amps!

I have the AD30VT, and I did have a squeel problem, but It fixed itself.
As far as tone, wow, and effects too!
Vox seems to be a good investment without breaking the bank.

I had a Vox DA 15 for a while, it was pretty good for home use. Plenty of effects too.
