Just gave my son a Fender Jazz Bass for his birthday. He's a very happy 14 year old. He loves his Squier Vintage Modified Tele Bass, but he wanted a Jazz Bass too.

That's all, just wanted to share the news :D

Wow, lucky kid, hope he enjoys it.

My son is 15 and just started showing some interest last fall so I told him if he stayed with it for 6 months we'd get him a bass. He is getting a bass for Christmas, that'll be just shy of 6 mos.

I wish it was a Fender, but budget constraints didn't allow for that right now. It's a used Peavey, hard shell case, got hooked up to it through a local luthier who just checked it all out, and it was a screaming deal so I went with it for now.

Yeah, my 11 year old gets his own this Christmas too. We've been sharing "our" strat, but he wants his own. Kind of a win win for me 'cause I get back my strat, plus we'll be able to jam, We do now, but I have to use my acoustic 12 string.

Ho Ho Ho! :D

He's been playing Bass for about two years now. he also plays flute and french horn in the school band.

I got the Standard Jazz used for $215 then upgraded the bridge to a "Badass II".
I found a helluva deal and he gets a great bass.
