I bought a Strat about 5 years ago and I never use the wammy bar on it because it goes out of tune when I use it. It probibly is a cheap wammy bar but is there a way to prevent the guitar from going out of tune without buying a new wammy bar because I am not made of money. :?

you could get locking tuners or try installing a Floyd Rose system though i think that lowers the value

oh well that makes much more
sense try a product in the nut too or try replacing your nut those should be the least costly options

another thing you can try setting it up to fender specs using their guide found here. it can be lengthy process if you go through the whole guide but it's definitely worth it.

mainly what you're looking for is the temolo section. if you set it up to fender specs so the bridge is 'floating' (3.2mm gap a rear of bridge) that should help keep it in tune - it has something to do with the balance of tension between the springs and strings.

the next time you change strings, put a little 3 and 1 oil on the nut and on each saddle, then stretch the strings a bunch. Don't use graphite, it is dry and won't stay in place and could bind and cause more tuning issues.

Are you breaking strings? or is it just tuning issues?

floyd rose is the way to go my friend.... no offense to fender, but the standard tremolos on them are not very good in comparison to most floyd rose tremolo systems. (this is why i stick with the Fender Telecaster... no trem to mess things up). I use Ibanez RG series guitars with Floyd Rose trems on them. It takes forever to get them properly in tune, but once you have them set up, it never goes out of tune. You can do dive bombs and screams to your heart's content with no problems

A proper setup and well lubed parts will work wonders on even the cheapest trem bridges.

In order to play a strat with whammy bar, you have to use only fender bullet end strings, the bullet end can solve all your tuning problem.

Exactly what CAFeathers said. No need to start drilling any holes or gouging out cavities.
