I would like to know what the world thinks about the new GNR Album.

I myself think it's not their best but it's pretty good.

i think it's nothing compared to appetite for destruction. if it was another band it would be a bit better without comparing it to GnR but it's hard not to. anyway i don't think it's that good. i'd give it a 4-5 out of 10

Not bad for the type of music it was, however, it wasn't the blues based, hit you right in the face, rock and roll that was GnR.
I agree with some of the others here that it was more an Axl Rose album. I don't think he should have kept the band name.
I understand artists wanting to grow musically, but they have to stay grounded to their roots. That's just my opinion.
There is an article on Gibson.com where Axl is ripping Slash for trying to be too aggressive and being mean.
I find that interesting. I've never heard of Slash being the pain in the a**, it was always Axl.

They lost all relevance a decade ago.

I've heard better, I've heard worse.

i did read about the new guitarist in Guitar World mag though. Seems like a real down to earth dude.

Axl's voice, however, has definitely lost it's edge.

So... it's not irritating anymore?

I've never liked hearing that man.

Um... different. I found it entertaining at first, but a few tracks into it I lost all interest. If you don't compare it to original Guns 'N Roses, it's a decent debut album for a man trying to make a comeback. You can definitely tell how long it took them to record the album because of all the different styles of the songs. A lot of it sounded like a take off of a late 90's Nu-Metal album, which, if you think about it, is probably what it shoulda been! At first, I kinda liked how after each couple of songs passed, the album would shift gears, but then I had a revelation. It took Axl and his revolving lineup 14 years to record this album, and it had no real concept. It was just random musical throw-up (not saying the songs were that bad, just very different in style) and when I would start getting into it, it would change and I would have to adjust to the new sound. For me, great albums have concepts, or a certain message or feel they are trying to convey. This one just missed the target.

orivilleowner: Before you spend teh money, try to find someone that has one and give it a listen. I have bought and kep a lot of great, good, ok, medocre and not so good albums. but I did not car for this one. I gave it to a klid that was going to buy it. It is hard to explain, but the songs did not grab me.

Dudes it's GnR. The first album was adequate because it was a different sound for the time.

Everything after that got progressively weaker to the point of "ridiculosity". They ended up adding lots of cover tunes because they couldn't write songs.

The latest offering shouldn't even be called Guns n Roses

It really is a waste of time
