It's simple really, Fender doesn't need to resort to "gimmics" to sell guitars. There are plenty of smaller companies out there turning out ugly guitars. Fender doesn't need to.

Metal has become way too much about appearance these days.

IMO!!!

what's the difference between both guitars? they could play ANY guitar and still sound the same as their distortion is what people listen to.

If it looks like a Fender and plays like a Fender and has the Fender logo on it then bets are you are playing a Fender.............for most Fender Guitar players... this is a very good thing.

If however, you want a Fender to look and play like an Ibanez (or a Dean) then you might be barking up the wrong tree. You might just want to buy an Ibanez, Dean, etc.

Well we do offer Jackson guitars if metal is your thing. I heard pointy headstocks are all the rage this Christmas

I voted for Jim but only because he "throws down" with a Tele.
I don't think that either of them is a stellar talent, and in general Slipknot bores me.

WOOOO they wear masks and play detuned chunka chunka riffs. BFD. My 15 year old can play their stuff and he's only been on guitar for 2 years.
