Why do I have to choose? I can have both ... even simultaneously if I want...

Pink Floyd is great but I have to go with the Beatles. They are the only band I know of that kept changing their music style and kept it popular at the same time.

Easy choice for me ... Pink Floyd. Beatles just sound too dated and overplayed to me. Also, Beatles are too popish for my taste. I never listen to The Beatles. I prefer the complexity, innovation, and darkness of Pink Floyd. I also love David Gilmour's guitar playing.

The Beatles. Floyd was a great band and Gilmore is one of my fav guitarist but The Beatles will always the Holy Grail to which other bands are judged. They are the point in rock history when everything went from black and white to color. Their innovation and growth in 6 short years is amazing and laid the blueprint for every band that followed. Their experimentation and pushing of boundries at Abbey Road studios opened the door for Bands like Pink Floyd.

If I was pushed to choose I would pick Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd is my favorite band and David Gilmour is my favorite guitar player, also I can listen to Dark Side of the Moon anytime. Now I like the Beatles too, and sometimes I go through these phases where all I'll listen to is the Beatles. But most of the time I'm always in an introspective mood, so I usually will listen to Pink Floyd over the Beatles.

Beatles - for the timeless melodies, the innovative vocal harmonies, the way they continued to evolve throughout their too-short time as a group. It is hard for younger people to realize now how innovative the Beatles were and how much they have influenced virtually everybody who has come after...Maybe the divide here is between people who love songs (Beatles) and people who are drawn to a more complex style of composition (the Floyd). I love a number of Floyd works, but I have an attachment to the complete Beatles canon that I could never have for Pink Floyd. I do not find the Beatles sound to be dated - whereas some of Pink Floyd's stuff is rather unlistenable to me - Atom Heart Mother anyone??
