Brad does not trust us. He is afraid we all load up avatars of "that other" company that also makes guitars...

(is that right, Brad?)

Surely you don't mean that Company in Kalamazoo that manufactures various "guitar-like products"? If it ain't a Fender, it ain't a guitar :D

It would be nice to think that we would all behave ourselves.

They could put a limit on it. After XXX responses and/or XXX amount of time registered, you were allowed to upload a custom avatar.

Some guidelines...

- Spam posts won't be tolerated just to boost reply counts
- Anything overtly sexual, too political, too anti-Fender, or too pro-competitor will be removed and a default one will be put in its place. Everything is completely up to the discretion of the admins. If they think it's not appropriate, then it's not appropriate and will be taken down. There is no argument.

I think this would be acceptable to most forum members, would be easy to implement, and would leave no room to "whine" about things if your Les Paul avatar gets taken down, since you already know and agree to the rules and terms of usage before being allowed to uploaded a custom avatar.

If Brad could get 200,000 people to voluntarily Behave Themselves, he'd only need two more Miracles for Sainthood.

Why not have a contest? We upload our recommendations, and Brad selects a couple dozen to add to the available selections. Here's what I use for my computer log-in avatar:

I'd love to use this as my forum avatar as well!

Yes, we need some more emoticons, especially one that encapsulates the concept of "D'oh!" I find I need that one rather a lot. It should look something like:

Come to think of it, I might as well have that as my avatar...
