You can get stickers that you stick on the front but they look pretty crappy. Best thing to do is take it to a pro I reckon.

Yeah you probably could, would require a lot of masking off though. I'm working on a project bass at the moment and I'm going to spray that myself, but I wouldn't do it to my primary bass, if I ever got it resprayed, I would have it done professionally.

Yeah I would never dare respray my Fender myself, not that I would want to anyway because I love it's colour scheme but yeah definitely see a pro if you don't trust yourself with a spraycan

Custom graphics: If it's a valuable guitar, first buy a replacement body off e-bay for cheap and paint that one.

If you know an airbrush artist they can paint it for you, then they clear coat it to preserve it.

A cheap way to do it is either a waterslide decal or stick on decal.

I have one 51 tele replica with vintage waterslide pinup/travel decals on the back. Very cool look for a vintage axe

This company makes pickguards that are 2 pieces with the top piece being clear and you put your own pictures or whatever between them to make your own custom pickguard.

I have an old squire strat, its an off white color. Im sanding it downand using multi layers. after that ill sand away the paints, and on top of that im adding some stencil graphics.

I would do this to crap guitars, as i would never touch an expensive one. also practice on other objects to get the feel down.
