My first band performance was in 1976 with 'The Mighty Bifftones' We practiced all winter for a benefit show for the Hospital Softball league. The band had two guitarists, drums and bass, three lady dancer/singers and two guys as dancers plus a lead singer. We played in the basement and the dancers practiced on the first floor with the door open... What a riot!!

Played Ventures, Shadows and other instrumental covers and a few originals in the 60's in Manila. We played on Manila TV quite a bit 63 - 65 timeframe under the names Checkmates and Stingrays. Had and still have 62 Strat and 63 Jazz Bass. Had a slew of Fender amps, Twins, Showman, Bassmans, Tremolux, Super, etc. that unfortunately are no longer around (stupidly let them go).
Continued playing in cover rock/country-rock bands in the 70's in Tucson, AZ. (Added a 68 Les Paul Custom, which I still have, to the arsenal.) Still playing, mostly for myself, occasional church gigs, parties.

Location: Wildomar, Ca (So. Cal.)
In the late 60's and early 70's I played in a band in Surf City, USA (Huntington Beach, Ca.) We were called Large Economy Size (LES). Being a lefty and also a singer I was fortunate to play an occational gig with various bands. Paul McCartney made all the local bands want a lefty so I got called by many of the locals. Thanks Paul!! LOL.. Even met my first wife, a groupie, at a gig. It was loads of fun, even if we weren't the best in the area. Our son ( that first wife and myself) plays in a Metalica tribute band called Creeping Death. The lucky dog gets to play all over the country to fairly large audiances.
