Its easy to say for you guys.
I'm just 16, i have a chalkboard with all my financial info on that i have to update everyday.
I drew a line under buying equipment just after my TS9. I am saving up any money from now on for college (yes thats right i got accepted into Berklee).
I can't really afford to risk £80. I know for a fact they will just be like 'To bad you should've checked the adapter properly.'

Gentlemen,

A number of us have suggested that honesty is the best policy in this situation.

I don't feel that you should do that. You learned a costly lesson, but that is no reason to be dishonest and commit a fraud on someone else. If that is the only way you have to get your pedal replaced, send me your address and I'll see if I can scrounge you one. One of the reasons this stuff cost so much is that they have to make up for losses from bugus returns. when in doubt, go with honesty.

Tell them what you did, and I bet they might relpace or repair it anyway.

I would have to agree. Chalk this one up to experience and be happy that this was not a £500 piece of equipment. Besides, I would think that even a half-way competent technician should be able to tell that the problem was not caused by a manufacturing defect!

Perhaps we should just stop the preaching. I have a feeling that he is about to learn another (very important) lesson in life. One he sorely needs it seems.
