I'm going to buy an octave. Can you just help me about octaves? Which one is the best?

There's octave up and octave down pedals. Foxx tone machine or Danelectro French Toast are good examples of octave up pedals. The Boss Octave pedals are decent octave down pedals. The octave up pedals usually involve fuzz with their octaves up. If you want octvae up with no fuzz, you may want to look into a pitch shifter. The main issue with octave pedals is tracking. Some can do the effect well on single notes, some cannot track what octave to play with chords. Its one of those types of pedals you really need to try out before buying to make sure it does what you think an octave pedal should do, cause some people have some mis-perception that you can plug into an octave and your guitar will automatically sound like a bass guitar or something....

I do not use one; however, used to own a Boss Octave. It was alright, but didn't use it much and got rid of it a long time ago.

I am more impressed with a pitch shifter and want one for my arsenal.

I use a Digitech Whammy, but it's a bit on the expensive side. Great pedal though.

Yes, I have a Whammy as well, it's got lots of features but as stated it is a bit pricey.
