Mainly its a Keeley Modded Boss Metal Zone for distortion, other times its a Tubescreamer clone that I built going into a Big Muff clone that I built.

I am sorely lacking a Distortion Pedal. But I do have my Trusty TS9 always at ther ready, for warm smooth overdrive.

If all goes well, there'll be a Boss Distortion Pedal under the Tree 8)

Just a TS-808 on occasion when I'm looking for a touch of overdrive or low volume non-jazz leads. Even on blues, I go for a clean sound, but here too the 808 can add just a bit of interest to the sound.

My overall answer: sometimes just a bit of OD but never any distortion.

I use an overdrive distortion and a metal zone (both boss's). I have the overdrive closest to my guitar, then my metal zone, then my EQ, and last is my chorus then there is my amp. I find it works best for my sound. I never use the Overdrive and metal zone together at the same time. I use it for different sounds.

I would definitely do that! Makes a lot of difference in tone!

So I've heard. Does anyone have 2 TS in their chains? I'm thinking of picking up another one if I come across cheap but I'd like to know if it's worth it before I get stuck with one I dont use.

Trey Anastasio from Phish uses 2 TS9's.

Just bought a replacement Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9. Also, I still have a 15 year-old DOD Supra Distortion FX-55, but it doesn't get much use anymore.

For recording sometimes I'll use a PODxt or even the DSP in some of my amps. Plug-ins don't seem to sound so good . . . or maybe I just don't tweak them correctly.

Heck yes! I use two of them each--an Ibanez TS9 and a Danelectro Daddy-O for overdrive and a MXR M-86 Classic Distortion and a Dunlop JH2S Jimi Hendrix Classic Fuzz for distortion/fuzz. I don't turn them on all at once...very often!

I set each of them up for different textures and/or amounts of grit, grime fuzz or dirt--alone or together, they all add a different color to the painting.

If you mix some OD with some distortion or fuzz, you can get that funky/cool Billy Gibbons Squank very easily.

It may seem excessive, but I don't drink anymore, I never smoked or did drugs, I don't carouse with women...a man's gotta have some kind of vice!

SRV reportedly used two TubeScreamers--either two TS808 or two TS9 or a combination thereof, depending on what source you read.
