Or do you have one or another? I use a Ibanez Tubescreamer for overdrive and a Marshall Guv'nor Plus for distortion. Whatcha got?

I sometimes use a Korg processor (AX series). I'm constantly tweaking the parameters and variations of the signal chain fx.

+1 Yes, exactly -- me, too. I use just a touch of overdrive from a Korg processor mainly when I use my Strat. With the Strat, it actually smooths out the tone nicely and melds really well with the single-coil Alnico pups.

I just use the amp gain on my rectoverb. I'd rather have good, tube gain than a pedal myself, although a pedal has it's uses I suppose.

Even though some pedals and digital overdrive can sound good in some instances, they never "feel" good when I play them. There's a certain feeling from the response of tube amp gain that can't be matched. Another thing I'll always notices is how harsh the harmonics sound on anything other than a tube amp.

But, I have to say that I do most of my demo recording with a line 6 pod xt, mainly because it's fast and easy to use, and I can record at 4am and not wake anyone.

I use a Big Muff pi driving a TS9/808 followed by a compressor and then various effects and the strobe tuner in the end of the chain!

I don't use one, since I play clean. That's how I roll. I sometimes boost the volume on my compressor for slight breakup on the rarest of occasions. I have yet to find a gain box that I like and can fit my sans gain style, the Sparkle Drive being the closest. The TS-9 isn't bad either.

Nope, I'm from the old, "plug in and play" school.

Just picked up a TS9 from eBay. I'll try the TA chip for a bit, I guess eventually I'll take the soldering iron out and put a JRC in there.

I would definitely do that! Makes a lot of difference in tone!

I have 3 (DigiTech Screamin' Blues, DigiTech Bad Monkey, Johnson Tube Overdrive) on my pedal board, but I don't usually use them.

A really old DOD Overdrive Plus for drive and a (not quite so old) Boss Metalzone for distortion.

Depending on the song I'll use whichever is appropriate. Once i a while for fun, and to watch my amp hop around, I'll kick both in.

So I've heard. Does anyone have 2 TS in their chains? I'm thinking of picking up another one if I come across cheap but I'd like to know if it's worth it before I get stuck with one I dont use.
