What do you think about them? I'm interested in them. Should I get the 2.0, X3 or XT? I'm thinking 2.0 since it costs less than the others.

I've got a pocket pod and the X3, I love em both. I've never tried the XT live, so I really can't comment on that. If you're looking at the XT live, you could probably pick up a spider jam amp for similar money. It might be worth looking at, the SJ amp is a lot of fun.

As always, it depends on what you want to do, but I think they are fantastic. With a pod you don't need an amp, just a good quality speaker, and the versatility cannot be beaten. I personally like the X3 because it has not just the amp and effect modeling, but signal chain modeling, so you can virtually combine effects.

depends on what you play though because if your like me who plays bass and guitar equally, the XT Live is perfect as its not as biased to either instrument were as other guitar multi-fx can be.
Line6 spiders are really good to play with though and is fun to mess about with

They are cool for headphones, or direct recording. They can be made to imitate amp modules pretty good.

But there ain't nothing like the real thing baby..........

I have an XT I use for practicing late at night and for recording some things. It's great for what it is. I have to say the Rectifier setting sounds nothing like my real Rectifier.

I think it gets a much better direct sound that using it live though, even when you set the thing to push speakers, or the front-of-combo setting. I'll take it to some live shows as a backup, though I've never needed a back up with my mesa boogie.

Do I think it sounds great? No, it's good, and fun to play with, and has a lot of good modeled sounds to use for demos, for practicing on your own, or to jot down quick ideas, and even for some final cuts. But, as was said before, there ain't nothing like the real thing :)

I used a POD XT Live for a while and sold it. I regret that decision as it was easily the most versatile piece of equipment I had. I know use a spider III combo amp with the FBV shortboard and it is almost the same as having the POD though I miss the guitarport software for creating custom tones. That made it so much easier. The nicest thing about the POD is getting amp models that are close to the originals without having to spend the money on a bunch of amps and effects pedals!!

always found the driven sounds on the 2.0 better than the xt series. the xt's clean sounds are better than the 2.0's. I'd be wondering, 'do i need mike selection and placement options for live stuff?' I used a 2.0 with a floorboard and a poweramp for gigging, for quite a while. It was certainly too versatile for what i needed but was simple enough that it could be adjusted on the fly so easily. Its a good reason for getting a dedicated unit and spending the extra on a floorboard, rather then getting one of the ive units. However much time you spend getting sounds you will find you still have to compensate for the differences in venues.
