Have my second show with a new band tonight (more details on that at some later date -- it's such a fantastic new musical opportunity that fell right into my lap that I don't want to 'count my chickens' and start talking about it like it's a sure thing!) Anyway, wish me luck!

Was just curious if anyone else is gigging this weekend?

What A coincidence!! My Band is giging for the first time tonite. Covers from the 60's - 80's - Present. We have a Female singer and I sing too, so we can really cover a lot of ground. I'll be shouldering My Blue Deluxe Players Strat!

Right On Brad!! Here's to a good show!

Good luck Brad, let us all know how the gig goes. Me and some friends have hired a hall for tomorrow afternoon, a few hours jammin out. Should be fun, no audience though

Good luck and break a leg :!:

I'm gradually working into some gigs again, but not this weekend.

OK, here are a few pics to prove that a show did indeed take place. ;-)

I've been following these guys for a bit on the local scene and was already a fan -- it's a new band but all the guys are seasoned pros, so the musicality and creativity is right up there where it needs to be. I'm a guitarist first and foremost, but when their bassist spot came open a few weeks back I had to jump on it ... and I have to admit that I'm finding immense enjoyment out of holding down the bottom end for a change! It's 95% originals with just a few covers thrown in for good measure -- it's in the alt-country vein with influences including the Stones, Faces, Neil Young, Smiths, U2, Blur, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Beatles, George Harrison, Counting Crows, Ryan Adams, Wilco ... This was only my second show with these guys so it's still an 'evaluation' type of thing (on their part, not mine :-) ) -- if it becomes more of a sure bet for me I'll share the name and web link and whatnot.

Now, as for gear ... I was using my trusty Daphne Blue Highway One™ P Bass® through one of our new TB 600 C bass combos and was really happy with my sound all night!

Totally cool! For a moment when I saw the pics I thought, "hey Brad's put heavy strings on his Tele..."

And BTW, that sounds like a set list many of us would strongly enjoy.

Good luck! - C

It went Great! Thanks for askin'. Sound like you landed a spot in a cool band, I hope it works out for you.

We got a pretty good response from an audience of about 25 people, only a few rough spots, but we'll have everything worked out in no time. I'll post some pics of my gig a little later on.
