Can't go wrong with a Tubescreamer. I use one with my blackface Bassman. 8) Mike

As stated above, the Boss Blues Driver and the Ibanez Tube Screamer pedals are the most popular, if not the best for Blues. I just replaced an old unit with a new TS9 that I bought from GC, on sale for $89 and I got another 15% off of that with a coupon !!! Who sez GC doesn't have real sales. Actually, I think it was me.

I ended up trying a bunch of overdrive pedals with my Deluxe Reverb Reissue. I started with a Boss Super Overdrive and Blues Driver and added a Tubescreamer but I kept looking. Then my local Guitar Center started carrying Mike Fuller's Fulltone pedals and my search was over. The Full Drive 2 MOSFET with its different clipping modes and toggle switches is fantastic. You can dial in just about any kind of overdrive you want and it's an excellent clean boost pedal, too. The Fulltone OCD and the new GT500 Overdrive/Distortion pedal are also excellent.

Check out & listen to the USA handmade pedal..the Dirty Bomb.

http://www.barberelectronics.com/

If you like some of the other cool boxes the other folks mentioned, there is other flavors for specific needs.

All of them will compliment any Fender tube amplifier. There couldn't be a better match. The sound samples where amp set at a low volume (a little louder than an average conversation), the sound is clean and Fender blackface like....sound familiar?

Or play it completely clean and experience one of the great amps of history.

Dirtying up a splendid amp like that 'feels' in this soul, like putting a mixture of urine, gasoline, paint and bleach in the tank of a perfect sports car before driving it.

:?: :?: :?:

I know this amp has a wonderful clean sound, though they asked about a overdrive pedal.

Maybe they want overdrive at a low volume...minus the urine mixture
