Bass Amplifiers - strength to weight ratio...

I noticed Fender has introduced a nice line of concert bass amplifiers and cabinets.

I thought they would start looking around where the direction of bass equipment is going. For the most part, Fender bass products including the FMIC owned SWR is on the heavy side.

I do understand you don't want to sacrifice tone (for the feather weight stuff) ..though there is a happy medium that has more than bridged the gap. Basically getting the best strength to weight ratio possible.

Neodymium drivers and high quality switching power supplies have been on the market for some time. Even Fender is using this technology in their Ultralight series and some of their PA equipment.

Personally I have had some negative experiences with N/D and switching stuff. It just needs thoughtful engineering in regards to tone & function.
I use a World 2.1 and a Epi. cabinet...i don't have to think about my gear...just play.

I know Fender has the pockets and experience to blaze new trails in designing and building the best strength to weight ratio bass amplifiers available.

They will move more 4x10's, 6x10's, & 8x10's with complimenting amplifiers...because it will easier for normal people to move them too.
