The citation in Wikipedia cites the Roman Emperor Nero. Have a look.

Certainly is a study in extremes, isn't it. Not unlike pairing Segovia with Slash. :?

There is a big difference between Andres Segovia and Esteban! Just because Esteban was taught by Segovia, doesn't put him in the same league! Don't get me wrong, Esteban is good. But Segovia was truly a master!

The issue here, according to mac67, I am given to understand, is "the name"....pairing 'moses' and '666'. The former, of course, preceding the other by several thousand years. Two diametric opposites in terms of imagery and spiritual connotation. Hence, my analogy.

P.S. Fascinating the direction these threads will lead us 8)

True and point taken. I have a habit of going off on a tangent every now and then! :) It's a gift.

Maybe his real name is Moses... or maybe he's a long time Lakers fan who hates Moses Malone... :D

Doc, i dont hold with the nero as beast theory for 3 reasons.

1, revelation states after the beast is cast down there will be a period of 1000 years of relative normality befor the 2nd coming of christ. Its been 1940 years since nero's death.
2, Its widely accepted that the book of revelation was written in AD95. Nero Died in AD60.
3, As throughout the Torah and the rest of what Christianity calls the Old Testament, there have been types of Christ (Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses and David). There have been types of the antichrist throughout history (Nimrod, Darius, Alexander, Nero, Khan and Hitler).
Khan and Alexander both ruled the entire known world at their relative times. Both also declared themselves as deities shortly before untimely deaths. Marco Polo said 'Under Khan a man could walk from germany to china with a pot of gold on his head and suffer no robbery, such was the terror with which khan ruled and punished'.

Is not Slash that guy from the Guitar Hero game?
Joking.

To me SRV is, was, and will remain the best.
It was through him I found the Blues!
Everyone has their personal favorite musical style and idol :)

There is no such thing as the "best" guitarist. My favorite guitar player is David Gilmour and compared to Slash he's a much slower player, but his phrasing is awesome. If he's your favorite player than good for you, but to say that he's the best is a matter of opinion. In my case there is no such thing because each guitarist has his or her strengths and weaknesses. And that is what strives guitar players to keep playing.

Welcome to the forum.

Is Slash the best? If you think he is, then yes. Everyone has opinions, and when all is said and done, yours is the only one that should matter to you. And yes, Slash is a very good guitarist.
