I ran across photos of a great tribute guitar. The guy's dad was a nose gunner in a B-25 during WWII and this guitar was built to honor him.

Enjoy - Doug

Definately a cool and unique guitar.
I like the back plate/cover photo. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I could take credit for this but the guitar belongs to someone else. I was just providing a pointer to the photos. Besides, if I did a tribute guitar it would be shaped like a naval destroyer. I'm not sure how one would play something like that. 8)

Cudos to the builder, and deepest admiration and appreciation for his father's service.

Perhaps we might find a way to express our appreciation to that individual as a group.

Since there are no Spruance Class Destroyers left, (all Sinkex'd), a dedication guitar would be hot. I was on the USS Fletcher DD-992, now RIP at about 2400 fathoms a couple hundred miles NE of Hawaii, Here

My old dad God rest his soul, was a tail gunner in a B52 as well ( he saw action in Korea). This one is special Doug, thanks so much for posting it.

My, my, my. It's a small world! My father was a member (plank owner) of the crew that put the USS Fletcher DD-445 into commission. He was at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7th and among other things fought in five major sea battles in the South Pacific. My dad made the Navy a career and he switched from being a fire controlman to being a journalist after the war. Those of you with a historical bent might care to read a article he wrote about the Fletcher entitled “The Luckiest Ship Of Them All”.
