This is a useful, free weekly newsletter for beginners if are interested.
There are lessons, chords, tabs and quite a few links to all manner of interesting stuff and it doesn't cost anything, so if you subscribe you've nothing to lose.
I've seen quite a few beginners asking in the forum, so check this out.
You could, if you want, save the newsletters to your pc and build a handy little library of information.

Hi there,
Yeah, I've been getting the newsletters for a couple of years now.
Lots of interesting stuff, blues riffs and all sorts, the links go on forever, for free I find it great.

I went to your link. Looks all right. At least it didn't try to use popups like crazy or add something to my computer like the plain About.com always trys to.
If you want really good Christmas instructions, Guitar World releases Guitar DVDs that sell at your local bookstore or grocery store. This month they released their christmas instructional DVD. This was last year's cover, but I think they released the same dvd this year and just changed the cover.

Ya, I just came home from grocery shopping and picked up that Guitar World Christmas DVD form their checkout line, Different cover but seems same content.

Just in time too, need to load 5 or 6 Christmasey songs into short term memory for a couple of weeks or so.

Lets see, a Strat, a couple of 40 & 50 watt amps in stereo, my inability to sing in tune, should sound real Christmassey :)
More acoustic type music I am thinking.
