Fender,

Ok, so you don't include an amp cover with your amps, but why on earth do you make it so difficult for us to obtain them aftermarket?

In the past year, I have had the experience of trying to obtain a cover for a Blues Jr., a Bassman 250/210 and a B-Dec 30. No sites/stores carry them, so I was foreced to go to e-bay and surf for weeks until one came available, then I have to fight 4 other guys trying to get the same cover and pay more than list price for it.

We spend very good money on products we love and want to protect. Why not inclued the cover with the amp, or make them more readily available?

Ok, I'll get off of my soapbox now.

Just sayin. :x

Jeff

Thanks for the reply. I have seen them at Musician's Friend and I have purchased the ones I have on e-bay. Musician's Friend carried none of the models I needed, and I had to wait a while on e-bay for the ones I needed to become available.

I'm just thinking throw one in the box. I'd pay the $20.00 extra to have the cover.

Padded Gear Covers with 1/2" polyfoam...check out Le Cover:

http://www.lecover.com/Cover_Co./Home.html

They are really fast & they have a link to measure and make the cover to order.

Very happy with the thick 1/2" polyfoam. It is much more than a dust cover.

In the past I have bought some covers from Tuki Covers but that has been a while back but they were really nice covers. Heres there link and if anyone has done recent bussiness with them it would be nice to here how it went.

What are these so called "covers" of which you speak and are they more protective than anvil road cases?

Should correct that to Some Fender amps do not come with a cover :)

The more expensive HotRod/Blues Deluxe & Deville do come with both a cover and a foot switch.

Cover keeps dust off, but I rarely use it. Dust gets blown off daily by the speaker volume ):

I just use an unused 30 gallon trash bag to cover my amps. Cheap, and waterproof, but don't cover your amp with this until it has had sufficient time to cool down...

As far as getting Fender gear, I have found a ton of genuine Fender stuff on eBay for great prices...

Any authorized Fender dealer can order covers for your amps. Most do not stock them, but they can be ordered.

No...they are fabric covers with padding. They over much more protection than just a plain cover via the padding...though it isn't close to a road case...in protection, space it takes up for cartage, or weight.

For most self move gigs with larger gear... padded covers offer some practical protection when you to stuff your gear in a car.

Example...

Le Cover...

If wasn't touching my stuff....it would be in a hard case.

Hmmm, I think I've been told what's what :D

Ok, I know you can buy them, order them or surf for them. I'm just saying, dust cover or not, it would be nice to have open the three boxes my amps came in and find a cover for them so when my kid's cat decides to sleep on them or stretch its claws ( yeah, I know that's another problem) or when I go to load my equipment and it's snowing or raining, there is some protection. Obviously, our experiences finding them are varied, and it depends on which cover you are looking for.

Understand, I have the utmost respect for Fender. All I buy is Fender. I'm obsessed with Fender. This is just something I would pay the extra $20 for in the box.

O

The cover I got for my blues junior, is fine for the house. The past few weeks I've been taking it out quite a lot. There is a guy here in town, he and his wife make custom covers. I got one for my spider jam, it's very protective. Looks like I'll have to get one for the bj too, better safe than sorry.

My Fender Hot Rod Deluxe came with a decent cover (meant more as a dust cover, cat protector, etc, than a hard case). I also ordered an extra from Musician's friend, just in case something happened to my first one. I've been very happy with it. I pack it in the rear compartment of the cab of my truck, so I'm not to worried about damage.
