Jeff Beck's new "live" album which was recorded at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club sounds great to me. 8)

You can listen to some of the audio samples from the recording here :

That was a great show, it was on UK tv. I recorded it and have been playing it nearly every day, apparently it was a five night gig and there is some sensational guitar playing from JB. Decent backing group too and guests, including one Eric Clapton.

Me too!

I loved the bit when Clapton walked on: Jeff pulls a face and says, "oh well, I may as well just go home right now..."

Jimmy Page in the audience as well, but no guest spot for him.

It was shown on UK Television!? Was the show highlights from all of the shows Jeff did there? How long is it?

I have heard three of the shows from that run and they are great.

I just checked Youtube, but I couldn't find any clips of it. Nobody has uploaded any of that show to Youtube?!

Most of it had been on youtube, I know I watched some of the clips, but it appears to have been removed.

I did a thread about it, if you recall. I mentioned that there was a CD coming but at the time no DVD - you said the audio was widely available on the net. Unlike Rhumba I'm not actually rewatching it daily, but I think it runs to about 60 - 90 minutes, something like that.

In other words, one of a night's two main act sets at Ronnie Scott's, at least in the days when I used to own a seat at a front table...

Cheers - C

Hi there,
It says in the introduction that it was filmed over five nights but it looks like one night to me. Considering he is wearing the exact same clothing throughout and from what I can see, none of the equipment is arranged differently in the show. It lasts on tv for about an hour.
Eric Clapton joins him onstage and well, as Ceri alluded to Jimmy Page was in the audience, along with Robert Plant and I think I can see Snowy White raising a glass in appreciation as well. It's a bit like ' spot the muso '
So I would assume quite a few of these guys would have joined him up there as well but I don't know.
Anyway it is an amazing performance from Beck and I'm pretty sure it will be screened over in the U.S. at some time.

So, according to that it is Clapton alone who gets to play with him ( among the guitarists present ) But it's Jeff Becks gig and that's enough for me anyway. Curious though, it does seem like the highlight's from one night of the five that is shown on tv, but who cares anyway?
We get to see the maestro at work.

:( Bummer. Once again I am late to the party. The bright side is that maybe an official DVD of the performance(s) will be released.

I have seen Jeff Beck a couple times (once with SRV), so I know what he looks like!

It has the same setlist as the Offical Bootleg http://jeffbeck.shop.musictoday.com/Default.aspx, but Tal plays on the Ronnie Scott shows http://www.eaglerockent.com/e-cards/JeffBeck/index.htm.

The CD tracks are reported to be selected from the whole week's residency at Ronnie's. However, I'd be amazed if the TV show was filmed over more than a single night (which is how it looks). Extremely unusual to hire a whole TV crew for more than one show unless there's a very good reason.

For instance, I seem to recall that Pink Floyd played Earls Court for 14 nights in a row (!!!); but that Pulse DVD was filmed by the BBC on just one of those nights. No retakes (though it has been recut for the recent DVD reissue, apparently).

Be amazed if the footage doesn't air on US TV sometime. Well worth catching when it does.

Cheers - C
