I looked through and don't think there's a thread here for this! So along with all the happy thanksgiving's, Here's to the amazing, Jimi Hendrix! I do believe he would have been 66 today!

Two icons... Jimi Hendrix and a Fender Stratocaster.

His huge contribution to music is eternal.

Or indeed three icons. Jimi Hendrix, Fender Strats - and Marshall amps.

"Strat was Jimi's middle name". No it wasn't: James Marshall Hendrix...

Happy birthday Jimi! Here's a big E7#9 chord for ya!

Cheers - C

That was something, eh?

He'll aways be 27 ... and full of fire.

As one of the more... "mature" among us, I consider myself blessed to have been a teenager when this music first hit the airwaves.

Thanks, Jimi!

I was lucky enough to see him when I was just a young lad.

Also I remember going to school when he died wearing a black armband.
Was given the choice of removing the armband or being sent home from school.

Had a whole day of listening to Jimi albums

Yes, I remember when I heard 'Hey Joe ' for the first time.
I was sat listening to the radio in a van and 'Blown away!!' is an under-statement " Who is this guy ?" I yelled.
Kinda makes you wonder what he would be laying on us now if he was still here 'Gracing the stage with his shining light '
But then, I suppose he is and always will be.

I count myself lucky to have seen Jimi twice in 1970. You can't mistake his signature sounds. 8) Mike

Jimi was the first guitar hero of mine that played a Strat. It was the first reason I held the Strat in such high esteem. I've come up with many more since.
