Now I'm not the guy to give you the correct info on the point I'm going to raise, there is a good way to daisy chain your pedals together if your using pedals like delay, overdive etc.
But now I've raised this I'm sure somebody will have the info on here quick as a flash.
I'm learning about pedals just now also.

Theres a book you can get that is called (Amplifiers & Effrects) Tipbook that is by Hugo Pinksterboed. That is a great book on using effects and what all the different ones are and do.

There are different opinions on order of effects but generally it is accepted that delays go last and unless your tuner is true bypass I run it after the delay to keep as much of my tone as possible. People have different opinions as where compressors should be placed in relation to overdrive pedals as they create different sounds when combined differently.

I got a delay pedal first, then a wah, and when I bought my most recent guitar (a Yamaha), they threw in a chorus pedal for free. I've got to say that of the three of them, I find the delay pedal the most generally useful. It's just some generic Boss thing, but you can tweak it to get everything from a really in-your-face echo, to some really subtle effects that thicken up the tone of the guitar.
