I prefer solid colour pickguards myself.

It would depend on the "grain" of your choices which I would pick.

I too am a fan of white pearloid.

Just a thought - Lately I had been thinking of those '80s-era Strats and Teles with black guards on sunburst. I thought they looked really good, but Fender doesn't offer that combination anymore. I might go with the black.

I voted Tortoise Shell because I love it, but it was a hard call to make.

I think a Dark pickguard on sunburst makes the guitar look trim and mean. :evil: A Bright one makes it look bigger and Happier :D

I prefer the dark for the same reasons. Here is a burst Lotus strat I did that shows the 2 side by side. Not exactly the same, but close enough.
