I have a new Squier QMT strat that has a two post bridge. I read the setup intstructions and have a question that I would like to ask. Normally I would use a trial and error process but I just restringed it and adjusted it and tuned it to realize that I may have missed something. First off ... the instructions say that I want the bridge to be flush on the body. I checked the posts and they are screwed in all the way... that is when I realized that I saw a screw in the spring area that pointed straight up and it was centered such that I'm wondering if I can adjust the post heigth from there. Is that what that screw does? Can I lower those two posts.
I've unfortunately been ill all week and today I feel great but am still coughing. As soon as I tune it up and make all adjustments and gain the momentum in motivation I will post pics of both of my new Squiers.
Thanks for any help and Happy Holidays.

Could you take a picture of it for us? I have an American Strat, and I don't believe that the screws are screwed all the way in. You have a two point trem, very nice, I've never heard or seen that before in a squire or mexi without being customized. There's plenty of info out there about it. Good luck.

when making adjustments like that, you'll need to consider other things as well or you might screw up the intonation. intonation is a delicate thing. when you get the action where you want it, check the harmonic on the 12th fret with an electronic tuner on all the strings. adjust the "back and forth" screws on the bridge so that when you press down on the strings at the 12th fret you get the same "green light" from the tuner that you're getting with the harmonic. you'll need to keep re-tuning the string every time you adjust the bridge to get it just right.
